Flaxseed oil is oil from flax plants or flax seeds. This oil is good for one’s health because it contains fatty acids that containing ALA (alpa-linolenic acid). This fatty acid is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids which contains DHA and EPA, both of which are good for respiratory health.

The chemicals that you can find in flaxseed oil help lower the cholesterol in the body. This means that when someone uses this as a supplement, or if one includes flaxseed oil in his or her diet, her chances of suffering or developing heart related diseases is lower. This also implies that the development of plaque or sclerosis on the arterial walls is lower due to the reduction of the bad cholesterol level in the blood.

Flax seed oil also helps reduce the occurrence of constipation as well as reduce the risk of cancer. By simply including this substance or supplement in your diet, a person has higher chances of avoiding serious and deadly diseases.

Omega 3 fatty acids, which can be found in flaxseed oil is very important and beneficial for people’s health. But we have to remember that we should keep a balanced diet as well as a balanced ratio of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids in the body.

Although Omega 3 is important to our body, Omega 6 is just as beneficial for us. This is why we should not neglect the latter in our diets. The required ratio for Omega 3 and Omega 6 in our system is 1:2 but according to research, the ratio of these fatty acids in our body, due to unbalanced diet and unhealthy lifestyle is 1:40. This means that by including flaxseed oil in our diet, we could either compensate or balance the ratio of these substances in our bodies.

But we have to be careful not to overdo it. If the levels of Omega 3 in our body becomes too much, it may take a toll in our bodies and cause problems for our health. Remember that anything good, when taken too much could turn out to be bad.
